A Rotating Equipment Technician for refinery shutdown projects must have strong hands-on experience in maintenance and overhaul of rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, and gearboxes. Key responsibilities include dismantling, inspection, fault diagnosis, repair, precision alignment (laser/dial), balancing, bearing replacement, and reassembly of equipment during shutdown activities. Candidates should be capable of reading technical drawings, P&IDs, and following detailed method statements while strictly adhering to safety procedures like LOTO, permit-to-work, and confined space entry. The role demands efficiency under tight shutdown schedules, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and close coordination with supervisors and multi-disciplinary teams in hazardous refinery environments.
